Callison Jr. Named President/CEO Of Midwest Wheel

The board of directors for Midwest Wheel has appointed Michael Callison Jr. to the position of president/CEO, replacing John Minor, who is retiring. Minor moves into an adviser role and continues as a board member after nearly 48 years with the company.

Michael Callison Jr. represents the company moving into its fifth generation with a Callison family member as president/CEO. Midwest Wheel will continue to operate with a team of seasoned industry veterans. The staff and director positions represent more than 100 years of experience with Midwest Wheel. Callison and this team will lead the vision and strategy of the company into the future.

Midwest Wheel's early days

Midwest Wheel, opened as the first rubber vulcanizer west of the Mississippi, the company has since evolved into a warehouse distributor of heavy duty parts and truck accessories, with nine warehouse locations spread across the Midwest — Des Moines, Clear Lake, Cedar Rapids, Sioux City, Davenport, Omaha, Joplin, Mo, Springfield, Mo. and Kansas City, Mo.

Founded in 1911

Founders George Koons and Fred Prior. The same family, Koons, is still at the helm, Chairman of the Board Michael Callison(4th generation) and President/CEO, Michael Callison Jr.(5th generation).
